CO2 FAQ'S
*WE REFILL 2.5# & 5# TANKS*

We know those CO2 bottles can be confusing! In this section we will, hopefully, address your questions. If not, give us a call or send us an email. Cheers!

BORN ON DATE

Every canister has a date it was last certified. The date will be in the form of the month, a hallmark, then year. The picture shows you that this canister was certified on November of 2019. ALL canisters have this date, no exceptions.

HOW MUCH CO2 IS LEFT IN MY TANK?

One of the most common questions we get is "how much is left in the tank"? First, your regulator lies to you! If you think your tank is empty, take the regulator off and put the tank on your bathroom scale. Anything above your "tare weight" or "TW" is how much gas you have left. In our example, the weight of an empty tank is 7.6 pounds. Anything above that number is how much gas you have left.

HOW MANY KEGS CAN I GET OUT OF A 5# TANK?

According to learn.kegerator.com, you can get anywhere from 2-4 full-size kegs to dispense. A full-size keg is 15.5 gallons of beer! So you can potentially drink 60-gallons of beer before you need a refill. The cooler the tank, the better efficiency you will get. Since CO2 expands under heat, the hotter the tank means the less efficient you will be. This also goes for re-filling your tank as well.
